Need Counseling? Try This?

Having majored in psychology, I found the following approach to therapy very interesting! Some call it "Cognitive Restructuring;" I call it funy! It does give us pause to stop and think about taking responsibility for the things we need to change in our lives, and the futility of always blaming our difficulties on others while ignoring our responsibility to change what we need to change about ourselves. Enjoy and be careful about employing this technique to those who may come to you for help. Better leave it to trained professionals!

That was funny, and I agree that we should take responsibility for the things we need to change in our lives and stop blaming our difficulties on others, but there is only so much we can change through our own strength. If you are struggling and are having difficulties, simply determining by your own intestinal fortitude to change is a recipe for failure. Of course, our will has to be in it, but remember “...we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places.” Paul said , “...be strong in the Lord and in the strength of his might”. (Ephesians 6:10-12) Do you have on the “whole armor” of God?
